  • Co-Operative (Co-op) Education: a program that enables UH Engineering students to receive career training with pay as they work with professionals in their field of study.
  • Internships: offer paid or unpaid opportunities for UH Engineering students to gain real-world experience by applying academic experience to professional projects in a supervised environment. Post your internships in eCONNECTION today!
  • Information Sessions: request a virtual information session in eCONNECTION. Our team will connect you with an engineering student organization to assist you in marketing your event to Engineering Coogs!

Virtual Campus Recruitment (VCR)

The Engineering Career Center offers true flexibility in the VCR process. Log into eCONNECTION to get started!

Overview

VCR connects employers with engineering students for co-op, internship and full-time positions. VCR offers employers the opportunity to interview students virtually through eCONNECTION using your personal virtual meeting platform. To get started:

  1. Submit a VCR Schedule request via eCONNECTION
  2. Post your open positions via the eCONNECTION VCR module
  3. Pre-select students of interest from the Applications tab
  4. Create a resume book to assist with student pre-selections
  5. Access eCONNECTION and report candidates you have selected for employment

Virtual Recruiting Options

  • Virtual Pre-Select: Employers log-in to eCONNECTION and post a job description and select interview date(s). Once the interview date is approved by the Engineering Career Center, employers can search student resumes and invite candidates to sign up for open interview slots. When the pre-select period ends, students are notified that they have been selected for an interview, and they will then sign-up for an available time slot via eCONNECTION. Important: A 6 week time period is established prior to the recruitment date for pre-selections to be finalized.
  • Virtual Pre-Select to Alternate: Employers log-in to eCONNECTION and post a job description and select interview date(s). Once the interview date is approved by the Engineering Career Center, employers can search student resumes and invite candidates to sign up for open interview slots. When the pre-select period ends, students are notified that they have been selected for an interview, and they will then sign-up for an available time slot via eCONNECTION. You can select alternates if your pre-selects do not sing up for a time slot or decline the interview. Important: A 6 week time period is established prior to the recruitment date for pre-selections to be finalized.
  • Virtual Room-Only: If you prefer to schedule your own interviews, and only need a virtual placeholder to conduct interviews, we can reserve a virtual interview room for you. Please contact us to schedule a date. The employer contacts and schedules interview times directly with candidates.
  • Virtual Resume Collect: The Resume Collect model allows employers to collect resumes for a particular position before deciding whether or not to set up an interview schedule date.
